BIR Form 2307, also known as the Certificate of Credible Tax Withheld at Source, is used to present the income of an individual or business entity that is subject to Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT) paid by the withholding agent.
To file your annual income tax return, you will need to use Schedule C (Form 1040), Profit or Loss from Business (Sole Proprietorship), to report any income or loss from a business you operated or profession you practiced as a sole proprietor, or gig work performed.
Schedule SE (Form 1040), Self-Employment Tax. In most cases, self-employed people who earned at least $400 in net self-employment income have to pay self-employment tax (SE tax). You can do this by filing Schedule SE with your Form 1040.
If you have income from self-employment (including as an independent contractor), you will generally owe both income tax and self-employment tax. Form W-4 is primarily intended to be used by employees who are not subject to self-employment tax.
