This award is meant to recognize an individual/agency for their remarkable life-saving efforts and exceptional patient care performed during a particular call in the state of Ohio. Recipients will be selected from throughout the state of Ohio.
Ohio Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Advanced EMT (AEMT) Paramedic.
Ohio EMS Recertification Requirements The continuing education (CE) hours listed below are based on a 3-year cycle (36 months) or more between the effective date and expiration date: EMR - 15 continuing education hours. EMT - 40 continuing education hours (or 30-hour refresher + 10 CE).
The Star of Life Award recognizes exceptional front-line care, with a focus on the agencies and providers who are the initial care responders (from dispatch to hospital doors). The ceremony reunites the EMS caregivers with the people they treated.
National EMS Awards of Excellence. EMT of the Year Award recognizes an emergency medical technician who demonstrates excellence in the performance of emergency medical services, with their primary role being that of prehospital patient care. Provides superior patient care. Advocates for patients and their families.
