A basic school-based crisis response plan has seven key elements: organizing structure, communications system, accountability system, parent/student reunification, alternative location, equipment and supplies, and aftermath/recovery plan.
2nd Notice: When a student accumulates five (5) unexcused absences, the parent or legal guardian will be provided verbal notification. If such verbal notification cannot be provided, then the school shall provide written notification.
School Crisis Response Plan The plan must address three general areas: safety and security; dissemination of accurate information to school crisis response team members, school staff, students, parents, and, when appropriate, the general public; and the emotional and psychological needs of all parties.
The number of non-exempt and excused absences is based on the number of school days offered. Schools are required to offer 177 days of school, which means a student can be absent ten days. If more school days are offered, then the number of absences also increases.
We follow the LPSS Attendance Policy for excused and unexcused absences. A child is considered habitually absent or habitually tardy after the 5th unexcused absence or fifth unexcused check-in or check-out within any school semester.
