BLS focuses on the use of two rescuers doing CPR and utilizing a team-based approach when performing CPR on the patient. However, HeartSaver is concentrated on resuscitation outcomes that can be achieved by a single rescuer.
Heartsaver CPR AED First Aid instructor ratios should not exceed of 9:1. Any more than 6 or 9 students require an additional instructor. Please make sure the names are clearly printed or typed in order for the cards to be processed correctly.
AHA chose a ratio of 3 students to 1 manikin to optimize the amount of time each student spends practicing while keeping the length of the course reasonable.
