Is There a Form 1040EZ for 2022 or 2023? No. The IRS no longer publishes Form 1040EZ, although it can still be used for tax years 2017 and earlier.
You could use Form 1040-EZ if all of the following apply: You file as single or married filing jointly. Your taxable income was less than $100,000. You dont claim any dependents.
The only real difference between the forms is in the amount of information reported. The IRS has a list of items, which if reported on your return, require using either the Form 1040A or Form 1040 instead of Form 1040EZ.
One major difference between Forms 1040-EZ and 1040-SR has to do with age. Form 1040-EZ was available to any taxpayer under the age of 65 who otherwise met income and filing requirements. To use 1040-SR, you must have turned 65 or older by the end of the tax year for which you are filing.
The simplest IRS form is the Form 1040EZ. The 1040A covers several additional items not addressed by the EZ. And finally, the IRS Form 1040 should be used when itemizing deductions and reporting more complex investments and other income.
