Child Tax Credit has been replaced by Universal Credit. If you are on a low income and responsible for a child as their main carer you will now need to claim Universal Credit to help with your costs.
Eligibility: Child benefits in Canada, such as the Canada Child Benefit (CCB), are typically available to residents of Canada. If you move outside the country, your eligibility may change. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requires recipients to inform them of any changes in residency status.
