Conditional release allows you to serve some of your sentence in the community, under supervision by a community parole officer (CPO). Conditional release is meant to help you live successfully in the community without being involved in crime, before and after the end of your sentence.
The official who grants conditional release, usually a criminal court judge, is also the person who may revoke the release. Throughout the United States, revocation usually requires that the individual simply violate the order of conditions for the release; one exception is in New York, as noted above.
Conditional Release - the release to the community of an inmate under the auspices of the Department of Corrections and subject to their rules. This release is not parole release. These inmates will no longer remain eligible for parole consideration during their release.
The key difference: Conditional lien waivers are generally signed prior to payment and only take effect after payment is received, while unconditional waivers are generally signed after payment and are effectively immediate upon signing.
