The ICC is a permanent international court established to investigate, prosecute and try individuals accused of committing the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole: the crime of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and the crime of aggression.
Criminal court is where you go when the state believes you have committed a crime and it files charges against you. Generally, the District Attorneys Office represents the state.

Personal Jurisdiction The ICC can only investigate and prosecute natural persons who are over the age of 18. The ICC cannot investigate or prosecute governments, corporations, political parties, or rebel movements, but may investigate individuals who are members of groups.
Criminal law deals with crimes such as violence against another person, theft or damage to someones property and white-collar crime. Offences are divided into categories of how serious they are and as such are dealt with in different courts. More serious crimes are overseen by a judge and a jury.
