A declaration of intent is a statement or action that expresses a partys willingness to enter into a legal agreement or perform a specific act. In contract law, this declaration is essential for establishing a partys intention to be legally bound by the terms of an agreement.
A Declaration of Intent must be submitted to the Georgia Department of Education within 30 days after establishment of a home study program and by September 1 annually thereafter.
The parent who fills out the form and responsible for the homeschooling must be at least a high school graduate. You can hire tutors to work with your kid if you are not. You decide what (if any) curriculum you use, and it does NOT have to be computer based or online. You decide how to set up your home.
The Declaration of Intent form can be found on the Georgia Department of Education website. You can file this form online, by mail, or by fax. It is highly recommended that you file online in order to receive a digital parent signature.
