Permanent disability is also calculated based on the temporary disability rate and the Statewide Average Weekly Wage. The maximum payout for permanent disability is $290 weekly, while the minimum is $160. These benefits are paid for life if you qualify.
To calculate the impairment award, the CE multiplies the percentage points of the impairment rating of the employees covered illness or illnesses by $2,500.00. For example, if a physician assigns an impairment rating of 40% or 40 points, the CE multiplies 40 by $2,500.00, to equal a $100,000.00 impairment award.
An employee with a permanent disability rating of 20% would therefore receive a benefit payment for 100 weeks. If the employees average weekly earnings are $435, the employee will receive two-thirds of that amount, or $290, each week for 100 weeks, for a total benefit of $29,000.
A worker with a 0 percent impairment rating is considered to have no impairment at all. Therefore, such a worker is expected to continue with their daily tasks as they would before the injury.
If its an emergency, call 911 or go to an emergency room right away. Tell the medical staff that your injury or illness is job-related. If you can safely do so, contact your employer for further instructions. If you dont need emergency treatment, make sure you get first aid and see a doctor if necessary.
