Certify with EDD Tele-Cert Call the UI Automated Self-Service Line at 1-866-333-4606. Select Menu Option 1. Enter your four-digit PIN. If you do not have one, the system will tell you how to create one.
``If you stop certifying for continued benefits, and its been more than 30 days since you last certified for benefits, your Unemployment Insurance (UI) claim becomes inactive. You must reopen your claim to request benefit payments.
o If you miss your regular certification day, you may certify on Thursday or Friday of that week. Report all gross wages earned during the weeks covered by the certification. o Gross wages are the amount you earn before taxes and other deductions are taken from the paycheck.

To continue receiving your benefit payments, you must certify every two weeks. Repeat Step 5 until your employment situation changes. We will remind you to certify every two weeks by sending you an email. If youre certifying by paper, well send you a Continued Claim Form (DE 4581) in the mail.
If its been more than 30 days since you last certified for benefits, your unemployment claim will become inactive. To continue receiving benefits, you must reopen your claim. You can reopen your claim if it was filed within the last 52 weeks and you have not used all of your benefits.
