Ink has its origins around 4500 years ago, and was invented by both the Egyptians and the Chinese around the same time. As far as components go, ink is made up of two key parts: the pigment and the carrier. The pigment is the dye itself, and is what is delivered by the vessel to the paper or printing medium.
Since watercolour is a transparent medium, this makes it very suitable for using over an ink drawing, as the darker ink layer will easily show through the paint. Of course, youll need to use waterproof ink to prevent the ink from bleeding, but otherwise, its pretty easy to do!
Markers on top of ink lines will make them bleed or smear, so for the best line precision, marker first, ink last. The look of markers and colored pencils together is a very nice one, but make sure you marker first, and then use your colored pencils.
One technique you can play around with is to saturate an area of your paper with quite a bit of water. Then, dip your brush in some India ink, and dab it onto the wet area of your paper. You will notice the ink bleeding and moving around. Push the ink around with your brush to experiment with different effects.
The honest answer is whichever you wish and swapping things around can keep your work fresh. If you want to concentrate on edges and pattern, developing detail then maybe start with ink. If emotion and atmosphere is important to you, docHub for the washes first.
Write in ink simply means to use a pen to write with. Pens contain refills which are filled with ink. It is emphasised because unlike letters written by a pencil, letters written in ink by a pen, endure the test of time. Do fill in in the form, do not forget to write the details in ink.
It depends on the subject and how detailed the work will be. If it is going to be a very tight or accurate illustration then detail in ink first then add the color. Especially, if the lines are defining the shapes. If the color is supporting the lines then it can be put in first.
