The HTML tag is used to embed an image in a web page. Images are not technically inserted into a web page; images are linked to web pages. The tag creates a holding space for the referenced image.
How to put an image into a directory in HTML Copy the URL of the image you wish to insert. Next, open your index. html file and insert it into the img code. Example: Save the HTML file. The next time you open it, youll see the webpage with your newly added image.
Right-click on the image you want to get the URL for. Click on Inspect to open the Developer Tools window. In the new window that opens, look for the HTML code that represents the image. You should see the URL of the image in the code, likely in an img src tag.
In order to put a simple image on a web page, we use the element. This is a void element (meaning, it cannot have any child content and cannot have an end tag) that requires two attributes to be useful: src and alt . The src attribute contains a URL pointing to the image you want to embed in the page.
Press Ctrl + Shift + P to open the command box. If you are using macOS or iOS systems, you need to press Command + Shift + P. In the command box, type full size screenshot and then click the Screenshot button. This will capture the whole web page as a PNG file.
Overlaying Text on an Image in HTML and CSS In the body section, create a div with a class named image-container and add an image within it. Next, create another div with a class named overlay-text and add your text inside. We know that in real-life scenarios, its unlikely for a web page to contain an image only.
The HTML element contains zero or more elements and one element to offer alternative versions of an image for different display/device scenarios. The browser will consider each child element and choose the best match among them.
