so in the series of learning programming in c we are discussing pointers in c in pointers also there are some special pointers like void pointer generic pointer null pointer dangling pointer and these pointers are also very helpful right so we are going to discuss these pointers one by one in this video i will discuss word pointer everything about poet pointer like what is void pointer the need of word pointer why we use word pointer how to declare this pointer how to use this pointer right with the help of a program right and ill show you that program also on my laptop practical also will see right everything will discuss about this pointer in this video and one by one by one in later videos you will discuss dangling pointer null pointer all this these special pointers will discuss right so youll also see how this pointer is different from the other pointers we have discussed like integer pointer character pointer float pointer everything about this pointer will discuss in this vid

A void pointer in C++ is a special pointer that can point to objects of any data type. In other words, a void pointer is a general purpose pointer that can store the address of any data type, and it can be typecasted to any type. A void pointer is not associated with any particular data type.
void (C++) If a pointer's type is void* , the pointer can point to any variable that's not declared with the const or volatile keyword. A void* pointer can't be dereferenced unless it's cast to another type. A void* pointer can be converted into any other type of data pointer.
The void pointer in C is a pointer which is not associated with any data types. It points to some data location in the storage means points to the address of variables. It is also called general purpose pointer. In C, malloc() and calloc() functions return void * or generic pointers.
Now, we want to assign the void pointer to integer pointer, in order to do this, we need to apply the cast operator, i.e., (int *) to the void pointer variable. This cast operator tells the compiler which type of value void pointer is holding.
The void data type always represents an empty set of values. The only object that can be declared with the type specifier void is a pointer. You cannot declare a variable of type void , but you can explicitly convert any expression to type void .
So, we will always have to cast the address in the void pointer to some other pointer type that points to a concrete data type before dereferencing it. A void pointer is declared like a normal pointer, using the void keyword as the pointer's type: void *pVoid; Here is a simple example using the void* pointer.
The void pointer in C is a pointer that is not associated with any data types. It points to some data location in the storage. This means that it points to the address of variables. It is also called the general purpose pointer.
A null pointer constant is an integer constant expression that evaluates to zero. For example, a null pointer constant can be 0, 0L , or such an expression that can be cast to type (void *)0 . You can specify any of the following values for a null pointer constant: 0.
Voids typically have a diameter of 10 to 100 megaparsecs (30 to 300 million light-years); particularly large voids, defined by the absence of rich superclusters, are sometimes called supervoids. They were first discovered in 1978 in a pioneering study by Stephen Gregory and Laird A.
Null pointer vs. Void Pointer Null PointerVoid PointerIt is faster compared to void pointer. It is generic in nature and hence slower as compared to null pointers. It remains null until an address is assigned to the variable. It remains void until any data type with fixed address gets assigned to it.7 more rows
