In Normal (editing) view, the slide thumbnail pane is on the left margin of the PowerPoint window. It allows you to easily move from one slide to another or to rearrange (by dragging) the order of your slides.
To do this, insert a shape in the first slide (or anywhere really), select the shape, go to Insert | Action | Run Macro | ShuffleSlides. Now, if you click that shape in Slide Show Mode, your PowerPoint Slides will be randomly shuffled!
Rearrange the order of slides In the pane on the left, click the thumbnail of the slide that you want to move, and then drag it to the new location. Tip: To select multiple slides, press and hold the Command key while you click each slide that you want to move, and then drag them as a group to the new location.
Go to the View Ribbon and click on the Slide Sorter icon (or click on the icon in the Status Bar). This view allows you to view multiple slides at once; click, hold, and drag the slide over to where you want the slide positioned, and then let go of the mouse button.
Slide Sorter view Slide Sorter view gives you a view of your slides in thumbnail form. This view makes it easy for you to sort and organize the sequence of your slides as you create your presentation, and then also as you prepare your presentation for printing.
Rearrange the order of slides To select multiple slides: Press and hold Ctrl, and in the pane on the left, click each slide that you want to move. Release the Ctrl key, and then drag the selected slides as a group to the new location.
Insert or remove slide numbers Go to View > Normal. Go to Insert > Slide Number. Select Slide Number and enter the starting slide number. Preview shows the location. To add or remove the slide number from just the title page, clear or select Don't show on title slide. Select Apply to all or Apply.
Make text appear one line at a time On the slide, select the box that contains your text. Select the Animations tab, and then pick an animation, such as Appear, Fade In, or Fly In. ... Select Effect Options, and then select By Paragraph to make the paragraphs of text appear one at a time.
Try it! Select the objects you want to align. Press Shift to select multiple objects. Select Picture format > Align and select how you want to align them: Align Left, Align Center, or Align Right. Align Top, Align Middle, or Align Bottom. Distribute Horizontally or Distribute Vertically.
Add a new slide In the slide thumbnail pane on the left, click the slide that you want your new slide to follow. On the Home tab, click New Slide. In the New Slide dialog box, select the layout that you want for your new slide. Learn more about slide layouts. Select Add Slide.
