my name is adam goldberg im a pet photographer in tampa florida and today im going to be sharing five tips on how to take better portraits of pets in the studio [Music] number one to getting better photos of pets in the studio is to make sure youre getting catch lights catch lights are that little tiny reflection of your modifier in their eye and the catch light really makes them look alive i personally obsess over catch lights now if you have a dog that has you know thicker eyebrows like your doodles or your schnauzers make sure to brush those eyebrows out of the way so that way you can still see the catch lights sometimes if the dog or pet for that matter is laying down you need to lower your light source to make sure youre getting those reflections in the eye because if youre not getting those it can make the photo look dead and the bigger the catch light the better in my opinion thats my style so i use either a seven foot umbrella or ill use an octa-m which is like a 36 inch
