Renaming rules tell Quicken to substitute a standardized, easily recognizable payee name when a similar payee is downloaded from your financial institution. Note: Renaming rules dont change transactions already recorded in your register; they affect only transactions that will be downloaded in the future.

Answers. @sca375 Right-clicking (a.k.a. Control-clicking on a Mac) is the correct place for renaming an account. Make sure you are clicking on an actual account name, and not an account group (like Banking or Investing) or sub-group (like Cash or Brokerage).
