Change the page number sequence Click next to the page number you want to change. Click the Start new header/footer here button. Click Document in the toolbar, then click Section. In the Page Numbering section, Select Start at and enter a new starting number.
What to Know To reset page numbers, go to Insert Page Number Remove Page Numbers. Do this for each section. To adjust page numbering, go to Insert Page Number Format Page Numbers. Make sure Start at is set to 1. To make page numbers continuous, go to Format Page Numbers and choose Continue from previous section.
Tip: If you want your second page to start at 1 rather than 2, go to Insert Page Number Format Page Numbers, and set Start at under Page Numbering to 0, rather than 1.
Changing the Numbering Sequence Double-click the footer area. The footer now becomes editable. Click in the footer area of Section 2. On the Header Footer tab, in the Header Footer group, click Page Number, and from the displayed menu, select Format Page Numbers. In the Page Number Format: Click OK.
