Gift Aid declaration forms The declaration must include a description of the gift and the: name of your charity or community amateur sports club ( CASC ) donors full name. donors home address (at least their house number or name and postcode)
Claiming Under The Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme (GASDS) For donations over 30, donors need to sign a Gift Aid declaration, which must be retained on file. But for small donations you can claim for donations of up to 30, with less administration, using the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme (GASDS).
Can Gift Aid be claimed on money raised from fundraising events? Donations not eligible for Gift Aid are those made with a companys money or other peoples money. This includes amounts raised through fundraising (eg a bake sale). That means you wont be able to ask the charity to claim Gift Aid on such funds.
In order to claim online you need to: Get recognised as a charity or CASC by HMRC (if you havent already) Check you have the right information from the donor(s) Register for Charities Online. Compile a spreadsheet with details of donations. Submit your claim.
Use the online forms service or the postal form if your organisation is already registered and you need to tell HMRC about docHub changes to your organisation including authorising an agent.
The authorised official is the person within your organisation whos authorised to deal with HMRC about your organisations tax affairs and, where necessary, submit tax returns. A responsible person will be a person with legal responsibility for running your organisation, for example, trustees or directors.
To claim Gift Aid you need to get a Gift Aid declaration from the donor. It should state that the donor: has paid the same amount or more in Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax in that tax year. agrees to Gift Aid being claimed.
Get in touch with HM Revenue Customs (HMRC) and theyll guide you through the process of applying for a Gift Aid number. You can call them on 0300 123 1073 or head to their website for more information on how to apply. Its worth noting we cant retrospectively claim Gift Aid on past donations.
