todays topic was selected because I mean thinking a little bit this week about required fields in electronic medical records and I thought this would be a really short blog post I could write it in a few small sentences now of course you know 2,600 words later it ended up being a much larger entity than I wanted to take on initially but its a topic which I find very dear to my heart and so lets delve into figuring out ways we can improve the required fields in electronic health records the issue is that required fields in electronic health records are clogging up the place all over they are everywhere from mandatory clinical questions to checkboxes once many an EKG order and the addition of required fields on forms is done with good intent and the issue though is that Im not convinced it improves patient care all the time the problem is that its very easy to make a field mandatory without placing too much thought into why youre doing so and it seems that no one is taking ownershi

Make a field required or optional In the Fields section, click Field configurations. Click Configure next to the field configuration you wish to edit. You will see Required next to fields that have already been marked required. Click Optional to remove this requirement.
Setup Customize Leads Page Layout Edit removes the fields from the Detail page layout.
First, if its a custom field and youre just trying to get rid of it, select Fields Relationships from the left-hand column. Then, find the field youd like to delete and click the menu arrow on the right-side of its row. Then select Delete from the drop-down menu.
You will want to click on the Create transition and select Validator link. Find the Validator that requires the field, open and ensure it is the Approver field then remove it.
Click on the gear icon then Setup Object Manager. Choose the object Fields Relationships. Select the custom field that you will make required. Click on Edit and under General Options select Required. Click on Save.
Inorder to remove the standard field from view, Go to the fields which you want to hide and select there link and select the Set Field-Level Security button and uncheck the Visible checkbox for the profiles you do not want to see those particular fields.
How to edit and delete a field configuration scheme Select Issues. In the Fields section, select Field configuration schemes. To edit the name and description of a field configuration scheme, select Edit. To delete a field configuration scheme, select Delete.
Go to Setup | Object and Fields | Object Manager | Lead.In Classic: Go to Setup | Customize | Leads | Page Layouts. Click Edit next to the Page Layout name. Click on the wrench icon for the Company field. Deselect the Required checkbox and click OK. Save the Layout.
