A common implementation is to access APIs with the OAuth2 client credentials grant type. In this scenario, the API client uses its client ID and client secret to request an access . The access is then used on subsequent calls against the protected endpoints to authenticate the API client.
Procedure Concatenate the user name with a colon, and the password. Encode this user name and password string in base64 encoding. Include this encoded user name and password in an HTTP Authorization: Basic header.
Authentication is typically done by requiring the client to provide some form of credentials such as a user name and password, an OAuth , or a JSON Web (JWT). As an API owner, you can implement authentication in Apigee using policies.
Set up Google Authenticator for your Google Account On your Android device, go to your 2-Step Verification settings for your Google Account. You may need to sign in. Tap Set up authenticator. On some devices, tap Get Started. Follow the on-screen steps.
To do this, you hash the api key they sent with the request. You search your database to see if the hashed api key matches a hashed api key that is stored in the database. If there is a match, then the request is valid, which means the user has permission to access that api endpoint.
