While working on Word we often face a problem. Many times we want to send a proposal to a new customer. We remember that we have already sent a similar proposal to an existing customer. We open the original file, save it as a new file and search replace the name of the customer. Sometimes the name of the old customer remains and that can create a lot of trouble for you. Here is a brilliant way of using a very nice feature of Word called Fields, so that you never have that particular problem. Instead of manually typing the name of the customer every time what you should do is create a field. Open File menu - Info - Properties - Advanced Properties - the last tab allows you to create custom fields. Im going to create the field called customer name and type the name of one of the customers and just click add. Assume this was your sales proposal. Anytime you need the name of the customer go to this Insert - Quick Parts - Fields. There are a lot of fields, dont get worried. Choose one of

Implied terms are terms that are not expressly set out in the contract and can be implied into an employment contract by common law or statute. There are several categories into which these terms fall. Employers might choose to rely on implied terms when the contract is silent or imprecise on a particular matter.
Employees do not have to sign a new contract for changes to take effect. However, you should always put any agreed contract changes in writing, for example in a letter or email. This helps to make sure everyone is clear about what has been agreed so there is less chance of misunderstandings or disagreements.
the employers name. the employees or workers name, job title or a description of work and start date. how much and how often an employee or worker will get paid. hours and days of work and if and how they may vary (also if employees or workers will have to work on Sundays, during the night period or take overtime)
In the event that the employee refuses to agree to the change, the employer could potentially dismiss them and offer them employment under the new terms. However, this is generally seen as a last resort and can be a risky step to take as it is likely to upset the employee further.
For example, it may become customary (over a period of time) to leave early on a Friday, or to add an extra day to a Bank Holiday. In order for an entitlement to become established by custom and practice, it must be long-standing, uninterrupted, automatically received, expected and well-known.
Implied terms by custom or usage are those which are standard and generally known about in a specific trade or place. However, it is important to be aware that case law has said that a party can be bound by an implied term, even if they do not know about the particular custom.
Custom and practice refers to an unwritten and implied contract term that relates to an unofficial practice within an industry or organisation that has become accepted as the norm.
What is a custom and practice in the workplace? Custom and practice at work refers to any unofficial tradition or rule that becomes part of a business culture. These are implied or unwritten rules that everyone follows even if they arent legally documented.
