The inkjet printer was invented by Ichiro Endo, who worked for Canon in Japan. The process involved the use of many tiny dots of ink, much like a dot matrix printer.
4/1 Four Over One is full color front side and black and white or grayscale on the back. 4/0 Four Over Zero means full color on the front but no printing on the back. Heres an example of where to change your color options. AmericasPrinter. 202 subscribers.

Inkjet printing is a form of digital printing; the image or document being printed must be in a digital file format before the printing process can begin.
Originally, inkjets were created for the publishing industry to replace the slow and noisy dot-matrix printers that dominated the market. At the time, several tech companies were trying to work out new methods of printing at higher speeds, with Hewlett-Packard, Epson and Canon among the biggest contributors.
Who invented the inkjet printer. The concept of inkjet printing was first developed in the early 1950s and by the late 1970s inkjet printers could reproduce digital images generated by computer. There was no single inventor; the charge was led by numerous companies including Epson, HP, and Canon.
Inkjet printers use cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks (plus additional inks to extend gamut and detail), which in theory at least makes them CMYK devices. But in practice, unless youre printing through a PostScript raster image processor (RIP), desktop inkjet printer drivers are built to receive only RGB data.
A 5-in-1 printer can scan and send original documents, like other faxes. It can also fax a document directly from a computer, eliminating the need for a printout. Faxes can also be sent from the printer itself, by placing a document on the scanner platen and dialing the number manually.
Print, copy and scan and fax with a Brother 3-in-1 printer, either colour or black and white, designed with built-in features to make you more productive, saving you time and money.
Laser printers, Inkjet printers and Thermal printers are some examples of Non-Impact printers.
