Although a JPEG file can be encoded in various ways, most commonly it is done with JFIF encoding.
Make sure the image is on your computer. Click the File menu and select Open. Locate your image and click OK. Click File, then click the arrow next to Save As. A list of image types, including JPEG, will appear.
JPG does not allow transparent backgrounds. The only thing you can do is have a flat color background that would blend into your website: eg. if your website background is white, then have JPGs created with a white background. Otherwise you need to consider saving as PNG, which does allow true transparency.
The JPEG format doesnt support transparency. But we can create our own transparency using a second image as an alpha channel.
The TIFF, PNG and WebP graphics formats support the 8-bit alpha channel, whereas JPEGs have none. GIF supports a 1-bit channel, which means that an area marked as alpha can be either transparent or not but no levels in between.
If you need any level of transparency in your image, you must use either a GIF or a PNG. GIF images (and also PNG) support 1-color transparency. This basically means that you can save your image with a transparent background. Lets use the Good Food logo as an example.
They typically export the pictures as JPEG (.JPG) images when they are shared or published on the web. Besides image data, JPEG files may also include metadata that describes the contents of the file. This includes the image dimensions, color space, and color profile information, as well as EXIF data.
JPEG metadata consists of the data contained in marker segments in a JPEG stream. The image metadata object returned from a read describes the contents of the marker segments between the SOI marker and the EOI marker for that image.
