Select the Attachments icon on the right sidebar. Select the row where you want to attach your file. In the Attachments pane, select Attach Files to Row.

Tips for attaching files in Excel Use keyboard shortcut for Insert tab. Pressing the Alt and N keys at the same time opens the Insert tab in Excel. Place your cursor in the cell where you want to attach your file, and use this shortcut to open the Insert options menu more quickly.
You can do it manually by: Go to Google Drive, click New, go to upload and select the file. Wait for the file to upload. Click to open the file. Click the share button. Click copy link button. Go back to your Google Sheets file and write the name of the file to the cell. Add the link to the name.
Select the cell, or the range of cells, to the right or above where you want to insert additional cells. Tip: Select the same number of cells as you want to insert. For example, to insert five blank cells, select five cells. Hold down CONTROL, click the selected cells, then on the pop-up menu, click Insert.
Click inside the cell of the spreadsheet where you want to insert the object. In the Object dialog box, click the Create from File tab. Click Browse, and select the file you want to insert. If you want to insert an icon into the spreadsheet instead of show the contents of the file, select the Display as icon check box.
Tip: To quickly create a new blank file or email, press Ctrl+N.
Insert a link to a file Click inside the cell of the spreadsheet where you want to insert the object. On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Object . Click the Create from File tab. Click Browse, and then select the file you want to link. Select the Link to file check box, and click OK.
