The comment will still be visible to the person who wrote it and their friends. This can help prevent more unwanted comments. The comment will be hidden for everyone else. Replies to the comment will also be hidden.
The person that posted the now-hidden item will not be notified by Facebook that you hid their post. An in case youre wondering, hiding a post from your own Newsfeed doesnt affect the original poster in any way. The post you hid will still show up on their Timeline and in their friends Newsfeeds.
