There are two ways to fix this. Fix 1: If reference cells were accidentally deleted, immediately undo the action. Fix 2: Update the formula so that it references a range of cellsfor example, B1:D1instead of using explicit cell references.
Formula corrections. If there are errors after you apply a formula to a range, a Formula correction box may appear with a suggested fix. Press Crtl + Enter or Cmd + Return (on a Mac).
For deleted references, look for the #REF! error is inside your formula, and replace the #REF! with the correct reference to a cell or range. For out-of-bound lookup errors, look through your formula carefully and check your range sizes against any row or column indexes youre using.
How to Fix #REF Excel Errors. The best method is to press Ctrl + F (known as the find function) and then select the tab that says Replace. Type #REF! in the Find field and leave the Replace field empty, then press Replace All. This will remove any #REF Excel errors from formulas and thus fix the problem.
To create an absolute reference in Google Sheets, the user must add a $ symbol before the column and/or row reference they want to lock. For example, if the user wants to lock the reference to cell A1, they would enter $A$1 in the formula.
The #VALUE error message means your formula contains the wrong type of value. For example, if you ask Google Sheets to multiply two cells, but one of the cells contains text instead of a number, itll return a #VALUE error message. Fix: Update any referenced cells so that they contain the expected value.
How to view answers in Google Sheets. The other way to get answers in Google Forms is to view them in a spreadsheet. Navigate to the Responses tab and click the Google Sheets icon in the top right corner. This will open a spreadsheet of all of your collected answers.
