Alright, officials in Multnomah County are just overwhelmed with animals and their shelters are pushed to the Max. So to deal with the issue, they're sending dozens of animals to the Oregon Humane Society. And this weekend, the shelter here in the Portland Metro was offering free pet adoptions to make more room. About 40 pets were adopted yesterday at the adoption event and we're still waiting to see how many went out today. Officials with the Humane Society say staffing has been an issue, so. Getting the animals out, both of both shelters is needed right now. The public has been fantastic. They've come out in a big crowds to really try to find homes for these animals, and we've just had a really good response to this. From the community outside of just hosting animals, the Oregon Humane Society has been helping Multnomah County with volunteers while they work to increase the number of workers at their shelter.
