Purpose: To create a completely blank and minimalistic theme for ggplot2 plots, removing all background elements.
In this example, the themebw function is used to create a ggplot object with a black and white theme. Optional arguments such as basesize and basefamily are customized to control the font size and family, allowing users to tailor the appearance of the plot to their preferences.
The default theme of a ggplot2 graph has a grey background color. You can easily and quickly change this to a white background color by using the theme functions, such as themebw() , themeclassic() , thememinimal() or themelight() (See ggplot2 themes gallery).
Modify a single plots theme using theme() ; see themeupdate() if you want modify the active theme, to affect all subsequent plots. Use the themes available in complete themes if you would like to use a complete theme such as themebw() , thememinimal() , and more.
The current/active theme (see theme() ) is automatically applied to every plot you draw. Use themeget() to get the current theme, and themeset() to completely override it.
The theme() function in {ggplot2} is awesome. Although its only one function, it gives you so much control over your final plot. theme() allows us to generate a consistent, in-house style for our graphics, modify the text within our plots and more.
themeclassic: A classic-looking theme, with x and y axis lines and no gridlines.
thememinimal() : a minimalistic theme with no background annotations. themeclassic() : a classic-looking theme, with x and y axis lines and no gridlines. themevoid() : a completely empty theme.
