Why it matters. There are many reasons to make a living will: to give guidance to your doctors and health care surrogates, provide clarity and closure to your loved ones, prevent conflict or disagreements among family members, and limit the emotional burden on your closest people at the time of your death.
As per 2018 guidelines, a living will was required to be signed by an executor (the individual seeking euthanasia) in the presence of two attesting witnesses, preferably independent, and to be further countersigned by a Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JMFC).
You can make your own will in Tennessee, using Nolos Quicken WillMaker. However, you may want to consult a lawyer in some situations. For example, if you think that your will might be contested or if you want to disinherit your spouse, you should talk with an attorney.
Family members and attorneys use The U.S. Will Registry to search for missing wills and estate documents that might be lost, misplaced, or even thought to have never existed. Millions of Wills are registered all over the globe as a safeguard to prevent a Last Will and Testament not being located when needed.
