Check that youre using the correct key. On a laptop, its often possible to change brightness levels by holding the Fn button along with a function key. Change the brightness via the Action Center. Use Windows 10s Action Center to toggle brightness rather than keyboard commands.
To change the LCD brightness: If the Fn Lock is set to disable/inactivate, press F6 or F7 individually to change the brightness (This is the BIOS default setting.) If the Fn Lock is set to enable/activate, use the Fn+ F6 or Fn +F7 key combination to change the brightness.
To adjust the brightness of your Dell monitor, press the Menu button on the monitor itself, or press the Fn and F8 keys on your keyboard. This will open the On Screen Display menu. From here, use the down arrow button to select the Brightness option.
