selecting a text box the small square just above the lower right corner is the out port click once on this and drag out a new text box these two text boxes are linked and i can prove that by resizing the first what if i want to sever such a connection with the first text box selected again click on the out port and then click anywhere within the same text box the second text frame is now standalone and empty the first text box now contains all of the text none of which was harmed during this process i hope that helps catch you later you

Create columns of text in a text box or shape Right-click the text box, placeholder, or shape border, and click Format Shape. On the right side of the window, click Text Options Textbox . Click Columns, enter the number of columns in the Number box, and the space between each column (in inches) in the Spacing box.
Columns option is present in the Page layout tab. It is used to divide the text into two or more columns.
Select the border of the text box that you want to delete, and then press DELETE. Make sure that the pointer is on the border of the text box and not inside the text box. If the pointer is not on the border, pressing DELETE will delete the text inside the text box.
Right-click the selection rectangle of the shape or text box you want to change. On the shortcut menu, click Format , and then click the Text Box tab. Under Text Box Margins, adjust the measurements to increase or decrease the distance between the text and the outer border of the text box or a shape.
Split text between two slides Click the AutoFit Options tool at the lower-left corner of the placeholder box. Select Split Text Between Two Slides or Continue on a New Slide. A new slide is created immediately after the current one.
Add a text box Go to Insert Text Box, and then select Draw Text Box. Click or tap in the document, and drag to draw the text box the size that you want. To add text to a text box, select inside the text box, and then type or paste text.
Resize a text box Select the text box. Select one of the handles and drag until the text box is the size you want.
Try it! Select the cell or column that contains the text you want to split. Select Data Text to Columns. In the Convert Text to Columns Wizard, select Delimited Next. Select the Delimiters for your data. Select Next. Select the Destination in your worksheet which is where you want the split data to appear.
