In the virtual reality installation ineedspace, a family of three neurodivergent artists—a mother (Lennie), father (Kazimir), and daughter (Ayaira)—are living on top of each other during lockdown, their neurologies conflicting and collaborate to create.
It is early evening and everyone is returning to the bunkhouse for the night. George and Slim develop a friendship. George tells Slim why he and Lennie travel around together and about Lennie's mental deficiency. He explains that Lennie is strong but not mean; he doesn't even know his own strength.
"Lennie" refers to Lennie Small, the intellectually disabled character in John Steinbeck's famous novella Of Mice and Men, which tells the story of two Depression-era wandering farmhands, George and Lennie, who dream of getting their own stake and living "off the fat of the land." Their dream dies hard when Lennie ...
Of Mice and Men is a story about an intellectually disabled man. Lennie's disability is central to the plot; if he were not intellectually disabled, the story would simply not work. It has also been suggested (Loftis, 2015, 2016) that Lennie exhibits characteristics of autism.
The mice represent the soft items. The significance is that throughout the whole book soft items are what get him in trouble.
Curley's wife shows many sides to herself in chapter 4, she starts off being very nice and friendly, to getting slightly annoyed at the men and finally to get very upset at how she is constantly ignored by the other ranch workers and her husband. ...read more.
Steinbeck also uses foreshadowing to hint that George will be the one to shoot Lennie in the end. Lennie says, 'I ought to of shot that dog myself, George. I shouldn't ought to of let no stranger shoot my dog.
Before they eat their dinner and go to sleep that night, Lennie asks George to tell him about the rabbits. George tells Lennie all about their dream to own their own ranch and “live of the fatta the lan. '” And Lennie gets to tend the rabbits on that ranch.
George Returns As the white men leave Crooks's bunk, Crooks calls out to Candy and tells him to forget about him coming to work on the farm. Of Mice and Men':' Chapter 4 ends up with Crooks alone in his room, rubbing liniment on his back.
Both the shooting of Candy's dog and the smashing of Curley's hand foreshadow that the men will not be able to realize their dream. The shooting of Candy's dog shows the callousness of Carlson and the reality of old age and infirmity.
