There are two ways to hide content: To hide Markdown, use the {toggle} directive. To hide or remove code cells or their outputs, use notebook cell tags.
The basic Markdown syntax allows you to create code blocks by indenting lines by four spaces or one tab. If you find that inconvenient, try using fenced code blocks. Depending on your Markdown processor or editor, youll use three backticks ( ``` ) or three tildes ( ~~~ ) on the lines before and after the code block.
There are several ways to suppress output in Jupyter Notebook, which we will discuss below. One simple way to suppress output in Jupyter Notebook is by using a semicolon at the end of the last line of code in the cell. The semicolon tells Jupyter Notebook not to display the output of that line of code.
Hiding code cells Now open the notebook and on the right of cell you will see a small triangle button. Click on it to hide the code.
To edit a Markdown cell, double-click it and start typing. To preview the output, press Shift + Enter .
To hide code cells: Open the notebook and select the code cell to hide. Insert a comment with the hide tag on the first line of the code cell. For the Python and R languages, enter the following syntax: # @hiddencell.
If you add the tag hide-input to a cell, then Jupyter Book will hide the cell but display the outputs. Note how we only see the output by default. Now try clicking the button to the right of the empty spot above!
Hiding markdown cells First, you can add the hide-input cell metadata. This triggers the same hiding behavior described above for code cells. This cell was hidden by adding a hide-input tag to it! You may also use a Sphinx directive to hide specific markdown content.
