In your envelope or template, place a text field on your document. Select the text field to open the properties panel. Expand the Formatting section. Mark the formatting option Hide text with asterisks.
You will find the Hide Ink button under the Review tab in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Clicking it will toggle ink on or off. When the Hide Ink icon is highlighted in grey, ink markup is being hidden. When it is not highlighted, ink markup is being shown.
Click File Options Display, and then under Always show these formatting marks on the screen, select the Hidden text check box. Click File Options Advanced, and then under Show document content, select the Show drawings and text boxes on screen check box.
