hi iamp;#39;m matt with Computex and today we are going to go over a typical day at the racetrack with our egt plus if your unit is in continuous mode all you have to do is hit the reset button before you make your pass then afterwards simply hit the telltale button and it will show you your maximums then just hit the reset button and itamp;#39;s ready for the next pass keep in mind that it will continue to hold this maximum even if the unit turns off the only way to clear it is to hit the reset button if you are in record switch mode it will simply just record whenever the record switch is on and to reset the maximum value simply hit the reset button if your unit is in trans brake mode then you will have already set up your finish and note times during the setup before your pass hit the reset button and you will see it change to ready to run at this point once the trans brake is released the unit will start recording and to start the countdown for the finish line temperature after t

Can you clean an EGT sensor?

Can you clean an EGTS sensor? If there has been a build-up of contaminants on the sensor, it may be possible to clean it. This can be performed with a dry cloth.

What is the EGT limit?

For normally aspirated engines, peak EGTs will be in the mid-1,500s, but with turbocharging, EGTs can be much higher into the 1,600-1,700 range, and one needs to be careful.

What is the take off EGT margin?

Definition of Sea level take-off EGT Margin: the distance between EGT and EGT red value when the Engine produces full-rated thrust, at sea level, under flat rating temperature, with normal air-bleeding. As shown in Figure 2. Take-off EGT Margin reflects the state of Engine performance.

What is the normal range for EGT?

If everything is working properly, 1250 to 1300 F. is a safe turbine inlet temperature, even for sustained running, mile after mile. Above 1300 F. things can start to get edgy. Remember, excessive EGT damage is cumulative.

The EGT margin for mature V2500- A1 engines is 55-65 degrees centigrade, while the margins for V2525/28-D5 engines are 50-60 degrees centigrade.
