Some recommenders may wish to write an updated letter when you apply in a subsequent reporting year or to a different type of program. A recommender may decide to rescind a letter after becoming aware that it has been repurposed, if permission to reuse the letter has not been requested and granted.
You may add a new letter after your application has been submitted, but you cannot delete or change existing letter entries.
Since ChatGPT and other AI writing tools are relatively new, its unlikely admissions committees are utilizing technology to detect if your essays are written by an AI. However, these tools are far from perfect, and as AI writing software improves, so will AI detection software.
Application Submission All application materials become the property of Harvard Medical School. If you would like to provide an update to the Committee on Admissions, our office will accept updates through the Application Updates tab on the admissions portal. Applicants may provide two updates to the Committee.
Letters of evaluation (although please note that you can only make additions of up to 10 letters, and you must notify the AMCAS program if you have a letter you wish to no longer be sent to medical schools; you cannot delete letters of evaluation from your application). 5. Can you reapply to medical school with the same letters of recommendation? Yes. But AMCAS doesnt hold them on file, so youll have to resubmit your rec letters with your new application.
This can include activities such as research projects, new honors and awards, any publication accolades, progress or status updates with extracurriculars, a new job, or additional responsibilities you have undertaken at work. Medical school admissions committees like to see students continuing to pursue their goals.
Ask for a backup letter in case one of your letters of recommendation does not come through. You can receive up to 10 letters of recommendation in AMCAS and pick and choose which ones you forward to medical schools later. Its much better to have too many letters than too few. Ask for letters of recommendation early.
