For direct flash, youll want to experiment with various shutter speeds, apertures, and ISO settings. Generally, a faster shutter speed (1/125 or higher) and a smaller aperture (f/2.8 to f/9) help balance the flash with ambient light. Keep the ISO setting as low as possible (100-400) to minimize noise.
Keep your shutter 1/250 or lower (check the max sync speed of your camera, usually 1/250) or youll get a black part of the screen. Aperture should be wide open or close to it. Adjust ISO to make it a stop or two underexposed. Put the flash on the hot shoe.
However, you can use these camera settings. For Close-Ups, Keep The Aperture f/4.0. If Its A Day Time Wedding, Keep The ISO 100 or If Its A Nighttime Wedding Keep it between 8001000 or higher. Whether The Group Is Small or Large Keep the Aperture between f/1.4 and f/2.8.
Generally speaking, TTL mode is useful for shooting in changing light conditions such as outdoors, events, or weddings, while manual mode is better for consistent or controlled environments such as indoors, studios, or portraits.
For camera settings, I initially expose for a natural light photo, then tweak from there. Generally my shutter is around 1/200, aperture around 2.8 and ISO dependent on the light in the room. I use autofocus with the focus set to Zone. You need the on-camera flash set to Master and the off-camera flash set to Slave.

Try dialing in these settings: Shutter speed 1/200, ISO 200, flash power 1/4-1/32. You may have to adjust your flash setting up and down depending on the ambient light in the room. Once you are getting close to a correct exposure, leave it alone and only adjust your aperture.
