Are raffles illegal in Tennessee?

Raffles, lotteries, and games of chance in which a participant is required to purchase a ticket, make a donation or buy services or products are considered gambling, which is prohibited by the Tennessee Constitution and Tenn. Code Ann. § 39-17-506.

Are raffles legal in NC?

The NC General Statutes consider raffles as a form of gambling and are generally unlawful in the state of North Carolina. However, there is an exception that allows four raffles per year for each tax exempt non-profit organization (i.e. for each foundation).
