What are the GPA requirements to be an AFROTC cadet? To be in AFROTC, non-scholarship cadets must have and maintain a minimum CGPA of at least 2.0. Scholarship cadets must have a minimum TGPA of at least 2.5.
Just like any other student at BYU, an ROTC cadet has the opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities. Many cadets participate in clubs, intramural and intercollegiate sports, and the performing arts. Outside of the military institutions, the BYU Army ROTC program is the largest Army ROTC in the nation.
To be eligible to join AFROTC, each cadet must meet the following requirements: Be enrolled in an accredited college that hosts or has a crosstown agreement with an Air Force ROTC detachment. Be a U.S. citizen after freshman year.
Generally, the Army ROTC (AROTC) has the least stringent scholarship programs, allowing you to explore nearly any major and take two ROTC courses of your choosing each semester. The Navy ROTC (NROTC) and Air Force ROTC (AFROTC) are more selective about funding majors in specific fields.
Brigham Young University is home to Air Force ROTC Detachment 855.
