New York State Department of Labor Form AL 447 is a blank wage statement. It contains all of the fields that employers of year-round or seasonal workers must provide to document each pay period to comply with the Wage Theft Prevention Act.
The WTPA provides for higher penalties when an employer fails to pay the wages required by law: 1. Under prior law, liquidated damages only covered up to 25% of the unpaid wages. Now, the law provides for liquidated damages on up to 100% of the unpaid wages.

In most cases, restaurant or hotel workers should receive three hours pay at the appropriate minimum wage. Employees in other private workplaces should be paid for four hours of work at the appropriate minimum rate.
New York State Labor Law requires manual workers to be paid weekly, and clerical and other workers at least twice per month. For more detailed information, including which employees are covered by this law, please see Frequency of Pay Frequently Asked Questions.
