The two background checks are (1) DCFS Child Abuse Central Registry and (2) criminal history. The DCFS Child Abuse Central Registry check is quick and easy--and free. The client/applicant must provide a copy of his/her drivers license and be sure to sign the request form on page 2.
The following checks are required: A fingerprint-based State and Federal criminal records checks. The previous employment history of persons required to be fingerprinted. A check of the Child Abuse Central Index.
Qualifications Must be 21 years old or older. May be single, married, divorced or widowed. May rent or own your own home or apartment. May already have children in your home or not have children. May work outside the home. May have a small or large income.
