However, these Lexile measures may be different, depending on the students strengths. The Lexile measures in MAP Growth and MAP Reading Fluency have different names and different meanings.
The Lexile Framework provides a distinctive approach for matching readers with texts based on the following assumptions: Texts can be ordered ing to the difficulty each presents for a reader. Readers can be assessed ing to the success each will have with any particular text.

The higher the Lexile measure, the higher the students reading level. The readers Lexile Framework works in intervals of five with 5L being the lowest. The highest possible measure is 2000L. Anything below 5L is assessed as a BR or Beginning Reader.
