The G-49 is the annual or so called reconciliation form which is filed annually. The G-49 is used to report annual sales and correct any errors or differences between your periodic reporting on G-45 and your finalized annual sales.
You must file both the periodic and annual tax returns. Note: If the total tax liability for the year does not exceed $100, the taxpayer is not required to file periodic returns (Form G-45) for tax years beginning after December 31, 2022. The annual return (Form G-49) is still required to be filed.
Many nonprofit and religious organizations like universities and churches are exempt from federal and state income taxes, but since the GET is imposed on businesses and not customers, sales to these organizations are subject to GET.
