The Arkansas 4-H Governors Award was instituted in 1983 and was designed to recognize one outstanding Arkansas 4-H member each year. This award is available only to former state 4-H Record Book winners. This prestigious award is based upon a current years 4-H Record Book and the Governors Award application.
4-H leaders support youth as they learn by doing by providing guidance and opportunities for meaningful leadership roles in their 4-H club and community. 4-H leaders may be professionals employed by government extension services. They may be teachers in schools. Or volunteers in the community.
Ambassadors will promote 4-H in their community and, upon request, on the county, regional, state, and national levels. Ambassadors will utilize the youth-adult partnership model to increase 4-H resources, programs, and membership.
