No, Coast Guard Documented vessels do not have titles, but they hold Certificates of Documentation in their stead. Federal law prohibits Documented vessels from possessing State titles, as the Federal Documentation supersedes all State registration.
Exemptions: Human-powered boats (except sailboats and rental boats). Boats operating under a valid, temporary Certificate of Number. Boats that have been registered in another country and that are temporarily using Alabamas waters. Boats that are owned by the U.S. government, or a state, county or municipality.
