Overview. The California Public Utilities Commission (Commission or CPUC) regulates natural gas utility rates and services provided by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PGE), Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), San Diego Gas Electric Company (SDGE), Southwest Gas and several smaller natural gas utilities.
(1) The public agency shall maintain a list of qualified contractors, identified according to categories of work. Minimum criteria for development and maintenance of the contractors list shall be determined by the commission.
(i) Notwithstanding any other law, electrical corporations shall continue to provide all metering, billing, and collection to retail customers served by the provider of last resort. Bills sent by an electrical corporation to retail customers shall identify the designated provider of last resort.
234. (a) Telephone corporation includes every corporation or person owning, controlling, operating, or managing any telephone line for compensation within this state.
