A lien release removes the lien claim once the loan is paid off in full. When you pay off your loan and fulfill all other aspects of your agreement, your lender will release the lien and sign over the title to you.
Provide a description of the property related to the lien, including the address. Specify the original date of the lien in the appropriate field. Indicate the amount for which the lien was originally filed, if applicable. Include any relevant legal descriptions of the property, if required.
Dont need to do anything. Since the lien holder has signed off saying the lien is cleared, you have the title free and clear. You could spend the money on a duplicate title which wouldnt have any info about the lien on it but it is completely unnecessary.
Please allow up to 10 business days for the lien release, after the vehicle loan is paid in full. A lien release notice is sent to the state, then the state will mail a lien-free title to you.
We process lien releases approximately 10-14 days after the loan is paid off, and the lien release card will be mailed to you. If you are selling your vehicle and need a lien release quickly, please speak with one of our lenders. We may be able to provide a lien release within 24 hours.
