This form is required to be submitted by an insurance company paying a claim on a vehicle deemed salvage or nonrepairable that is retained by the owner. This report must be filed within 30 days if the insurance company does not acquire ownership of the vehicle.
The following items must be brought in or mailed to the county tax office where you reside: Original Salvage Vehicle Title signed by the seller(s) and buyer(s). VTR-130U (Application for Texas Title). VTR-61 (Rebuilt Affidavit) Find the form on the TxDMV website. Lien Release, if applicable.
A vehicle with any of the NMVTIS brands listed below is considered a salvage vehicle in Texas. In order for this vehicle to be operated on a road again, it must first be rebuilt and inspected. Otherwise, the vehicle is only eligible for a salvage title, nonrepairable title, or for authority to dispose of the vehicle.
Title Correction If the department issued the title based on the information contained in the title application, you or your lienholder (if applicable) will need to submit a new application and fee to your county tax office to correct the error.
