Lump Sum Benefit If a former employee dies and no survivor annuity is payable, the retirement contributions remaining to the deceased persons credit in the Civil Service Retirement and Disability Fund, plus applicable interest, are payable. This lump sum is payable under the order of precedence.
At the discretion of the agency, up to a maximum of 240 hours (30 days) of sick leave may be advanced to an employee when required by the exigencies of the situation.
